Professional NDIS Gardening and Lawn Mowing Services

Safe, reliable garden maintenance for NDIS participants across Melbourne.

Keep your outdoor space safe and under control

Professional NDIS Gardening Service

For many NDIS participants, an overgrown or inaccessible yard is more than an eyesore — it’s a genuine safety hazard. Uneven pathways, long grass, and tangled growth can make it difficult or impossible to safely access your own outdoor space.

United Home Services provides professional NDIS gardening services for self-managed and plan-managed participants across Melbourne. Our local franchisees understand the importance of consistency — you get the same trusted person, visit after visit, who knows your property and your needs.

  • Available to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants
  • Funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Living
  • Consistent local gardeners who know your property

What Our NDIS Gardening Includes:

  • Assistance with Household Tasks — yard and garden maintenance linked to your disability support needs
  • Lawn mowing and edging to keep pathways clear and safe
  • Weeding of garden beds and paved areas
  • Pruning and trimming of shrubs and hedges
  • Clearing of overgrown areas that restrict outdoor access
  • Green waste removal where required
  • Gutter cleaning — removal of leaves and debris to prevent blockages and water damage
  • General yard tidy-ups and seasonal maintenance

Please note: NDIS funding covers labour only. Materials such as mulch, soil, fertiliser, and garden tools are not covered under your plan and must be purchased separately.

How NDIS Funding Works for Gardening

What category covers it?

Gardening is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Living. If your disability prevents you from maintaining your garden yourself and no household member can reasonably do it, it qualifies as a reasonable and necessary support.

Who can use our service?

We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. NDIA-managed participants are also welcome. If your plan is NDIA-managed, your local United Home Services franchisee can still provide the services you need. Where required, payments are processed through United Home Services Victoria’s NDIS registration, ensuring a simple and seamless experience

How does invoicing work?

We invoice at an hourly rate in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. All invoices are itemised, clearly showing hours and rate — exactly what plan managers need to process your claim without delays.

FAQ
Common questions about NDIS gardening

Whether you’re a participant, support coordinator, or plan manager, these answers cover the most common questions we receive. Happy to talk through anything else when you get in touch.

Yes. Gardening is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Living when your disability prevents you from maintaining your garden yourself and no other household member can reasonably do it. It must be linked to your support needs, not just a general preference.

Our parent company holds NDIS registration, which means we can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Individual franchisees are not separately registered, so we are not currently able to service NDIA-managed participants directly. If you’re NDIA-managed and unsure of your options, contact us and we’ll do our best to help you find a path forward.

Funded tasks typically include lawn mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, clearing overgrown areas, and green waste removal. Purely cosmetic work — decorative landscaping, new plantings for aesthetics, or garden redesign — is generally not funded unless directly linked to a disability-related need.

No. NDIS funding covers the gardener’s labour only. Any materials — mulch, soil, fertiliser, compost, pesticides, and garden tools — are not covered and must be purchased separately by the participant.

Absolutely. We work directly with support coordinators and plan managers to set up services and handle invoicing. If you’d prefer to have your coordinator contact us on your behalf, that’s completely fine — just point them to this page or our contact details.

Frequency depends on your plan funding and individual needs. Many participants book fortnightly or monthly visits. We’ll work with you to set a schedule that fits within your approved budget and keeps your yard safe and manageable throughout the year.
